They disappeared... so we planted them in the earth as trees and in the sky as light. 🕯️🌳
A glimpse of our event held today at Al-Rushdiyah Park in Deir ez-Zor under the title:
“Souls That Never Fade: Commemorating the Missing and the Forcibly Disappeared.”
The event was organized by the Nakhla Foundation for Motherhood and Childhood Care and Development, under the patronage of the National Transitional Justice Authority, in coordination with the Directorate of Social Affairs and Labor, and in partnership with the Caesar Families Association, in honor of our missing children.
We carried the photographs of the children of Dr. Rania Al-Abbasi and planted trees in their memory and in memory of all missing children—trees that reflect their purity and innocence. We also lit candles so that their stories remain alive in our hearts and collective memory.
Hand in hand, we will never forget, nor will we abandon the rights of our children. Our foremost goal remains achieving truth and justice for their souls and holding accountable those responsible for their disappearance and suffering.
